1. Cabinteely Park – Bins
There has been an issue, particularly on sunny weekends, of overflowing bins in Cabinteely park. To address this, I raised a motion on the issue at this months Local Area Meeting of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. Following support from my fellow Councillors, officials have agreed to examine providing more frequent bin collections on busy sunny weekends, when visitor numbers are at their highest.
2. Clonmore Park – Playground
Upgrade works for the new playground are now well underway – after unfortunate delays. Once complete, the new playground will an a great community asset and it will be followed by upgrade works to the paths/cycle lanes (these may not be delivered until next year).

3. High Visibility Garda Operation on LUAS
This month, Gardaí based in Dundrum Garda Station have started a high-visibility operation on the LUAS across the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown area.
As part of this operation, uniformed Gardaí will carry out regular patrols on LUAS services and at stops. They will engage with passengers and LUAS staff, and provide reassurance to people using the public transport network.
4. Community Safety Partnership Public Meeting – 3rd November 2026
As you may be aware, I am the Stillorgan representative on Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown’s Community Safety Partnership.
We will be hosting a public meeting 3rd November 2026 to discuss public and community safety. Save the date, more details will be forthcoming shortly.
5. Ballyogan Recycling Centre – Green Waste Charges
Youa are likely aware that charges for Green Waste were increased significantly this year in Ballyogan Recycling Centre.
This measure was intended to raise additional funds for the Council but has instead led to a massive reduction in usage (trending to be down over 40% year-on-year) and the Council is on track to actually lose money.
I will be working with other Councillors to seek to reverse the poorly considered charge increase.
6. Cherrywood Strategic Development Zone
Early this month, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council formally adopted the Cherrywood Town Centre town. The adopted plan, as amended, will deliver 10,500 new homes for 26,000 people and support 22,00 jobs.
This is a major development for the county and will provide much-needed new homes for many within our community.
